The free promotion for the digital edition of Pretty Persuasion has, alas, ended for now, but the good news is that it’s still only $2.99! A killer deal, if you ask me (and you should).
The Goodreads contest to win a print copy of the book is currently inactive but should become visible again very, very soon. If you haven’t entered already and want to do so, please check this link before midnight, and you should be able to throw your name into the virtual hat.
But the main reason for this post is to highlight some of the wonderful reader reviews the book has received lately (which I’ve also posted on the book page). Here they are!
“Lovely and light hearted romance.”
—Mimi1984, Amazon.com“This is one of the best books I’ve read lately!”
—ScrappyT, Amazon.com“My best description of this book is to say that it has “heart” and you will love it!”
—G.Alexander, Amazon.com“What a well written story with well defined and clearly sketched characters and settings. The contrary nature of the ‘heroine’ Georgie enlivened the story and her indecision and Robert’s guilt added layers to this regency romance. Bravo Olivia Kingsley!”
—C. Fontenelle, Amazon UK“Wow. This book left me speechless. Olivia Kingsley did such a great job at building suspense from beggining to end. [...] If you love adult romance novels or any type of romance at all READ THIS BOOK! You will fall in love.”
—Alexis, Goodreads.com“…the romance was shiver-inducing, the writing was gorgeous, the story was beautiful, and the ending was perfect. Brilliant book.”
—Farrah, Goodreads.com
Thank you, ladies! I can’t describe just how fantastic it is to know my book is being read–and enjoyed–by you all. And to all those who downloaded the book this weekend while it was free…happy reading!

It’s March! Spring is in the air. And I’ve gone mad as a March hare and made Pretty Persuasion a FREE digital download on Amazon! This deal is good for all the Amazon sites where the book is available. This is a limited time offer, so hurry and get your copy now!
If you’re a member of Amazon Prime, you’ll be able to continue getting the book for free through the Kindle Lending Library even after the free promotion ends.
For those of you who don’t have e-readers or simply prefer to read print copies, I’m running another contest on Goodreads. 3 lucky winners will receive trade paperback versions of Pretty Persuasion. Contest ends Tuesday!

Don’t own an e-reader? Prefer the feel of a paper book in your hands? Then enter my new Goodreads contest for a chance to win a trade paperback copy of Pretty Persuasion.
I mentioned in my last update that I recently moved to a new house. Well, it took me a while, but last week I finally unpacked all my books. What I discovered was that…
A) I have more books than bookshelf space (see photo on the right–I had to put books on top of the bookshelf)
and
B) I have way too many paperback copies of Pretty Persuasion, just sitting around, not being read by anyone. That’s just wrong! (Again, see photo on the right.)
So I obviously need to find a way to get rid of them. First step: Goodreads contest! You have one week to enter, so don’t hesitate!

Discount, guest blog and giveaway!
January 9th, 2012Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I’m afraid I disappeared from the online world for a while. In addition to the usual Christmas rush, I moved to a new house, suffered near constant and seemingly endless seasonal maladies, and extended visits from family, which left very little time and energy for keeping my site updated.
But I’m back! And so thrilled to announce that for a limited time, the digital edition of Pretty Persuasion is only 99 cents! Visit the book’s page for a full list of sites where it can be purchased. New additions include the Sony Ebookstore and Kobo as well as some international Amazon sites.
In other news, today I’m guest blogging at Fresh Fiction, talking about how I rate the books I read. Leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of Pretty Persuasion!

I’m pleased to report that you can now buy Pretty Persuasion in the Apple iBookstore and the Diesel eBook Store. Very soon you should also be able to find it in the Sony ebook store and at Kobo. I’ll make sure to announce it when that happens.
I had hoped to make the print version of the book available at sites such at B&N and Amazon UK eventually, but instead I decided to opt out of that with my printing service, which allowed me to slash the cost of the print book significantly. So instead of $11.99, the print book is now $8.99! This is a trade paperback (not the smaller, mass market version) with a very nice library binding.
And for anyone who might have missed it, I recently guest blogged on Romance Reviews Today (talking about heroes who go to great lengths to woo the heroine!) and answered some fun questions in a short interview at Love Romance Passion–although, since I was doing the answering, it turned out not to be so short after all. Ahem.
Finally, I’m thrilled that the fabulous NYT bestselling author of hugely popular Regency romances, Julia Quinn, today selected Pretty Persuasion as her Historical Romance Monday recommendation on her Facebook page. Thank you, Julia!

Pretty Persuasion In Print – and a Contest!
November 3rd, 2011It gives me great joy to say that Pretty Persuasion is finally available from Amazon.com in print. To celebrate, I’m running a contest. See the end of this post for details!
The print book is a pretty trade-sized paperback with a glossy cover, sturdy library binding, thick cream-colored paper and, if I say so myself, a highly pleasing font type. (Am I laying this on too thick?) But best of all, it’s eligible for Prime shipping. It’s probably not wise to go into more detail on that, though. I’m a certified Amazon Prime addict.
I mean, really, how much easier is it to shop from home with just a few clicks of the computer mouse, than to go to a brick-and-mortar store? No getting dressed, getting in the car, driving in bad traffic, trying to find a parking spot, bumping into people in crowded aisles, being unsure which product to pick because there aren’t any user reviews to guide you, and no long lines at check-out. Not to mention no sales tax, at least not in my state, although that probably won’t last much longer. And then…free shipping! I know, I know, Prime has a membership fee, but for someone like me it doesn’t take long to get my value out of that fee, and then some.
Back to Pretty Persuasion in print. I thought I’d add a quick note about the price. I know it’s quite high, especially compared to the ebook, and I expect for most readers it’s too high, and those who can will go with the ebook. Some still refuse to read ebooks, though (I used to be one of those people, so I sympathize), and for them I thought it’d be nice to have the print option. Plus I get to hold the book myself, pet it and tell it how beautiful it is, et cetera, et cetera.
And I get to give them away in contests. Huzzah!
CONTEST DETAILS
Prizes: Six (6) winners will receive a copy of Pretty Persuasion. Three (3) prizes are trade paperback copies and three (3) prizes are digital copies.
How to Enter: Hop on over to my Facebook Page. Click the “Like” button at the top of the page. Then leave a comment on my Wall and let me know if you’d like to win the paperback or the ebook. <— Very important! Your comment can be simply, “Please enter me in the contest” etc. or you can be more wordy (like I tend to be) and maybe tell me why you’d like to win the book. The sky’s the limit!
Rules and such: Contest ends November 14th, 2011 at 12 a.m. (midnight) Pacific Time. Only residents of the United States are eligible to win a paperback copy, while everyone is eligible to win an ebook copy. Winners will be drawn at random and announced on Facebook and my News blog with information on how to claim the prize. I will not contact the winner(s) myself; this would restrict the contest to only those who allow non-friends on Facebook to send them messages. By entering the contest you give me permission to post your name as one of the winners.

November 1st, 2011At last! I’m so pleased to announce that Pretty Persuasion is now on sale! I’m humbled and honored that the book has received some wonderful endorsements by fabulous authors Lauren Willig and Alison Kent. Lauren calls it “A classic Regency romance!” and Alison says, “I love this book! Adore this book! It’s thoughtful and original and [Olivia's] voice is pure poetry with a beautiful rhythm…”
I’m celebrating this occasion with the official launch of this website. On the Books page you can find out a bit of what I’m working on now, but do check back here soon for more details on that. On the Pretty Persuasion page you can find out more about the book and read an excerpt.
